HvS ART | Brigid Marlin Collection

To add to the virtual catalog of Hilda van Stockum's art, Brigid sent me two photos of HvS art in her collection in Berkhamsted, Herts., UK.

The oil painting of Benny is exquisite. Brigid has written about Benny in her book A Meaning for Danny (Boissevain Books, 2011).

It captures the mournful look that Benny sometimes had.

They didn't have a name then for his illness.

The water color (pastel?) of Brigid at 12 months captures her  curiosity and cheerfulness.

With hindsight, the curiosity might reflect that Brigid was born with myopia - a topic that opens her book.
